Of the plethora of 225's I've known, only ONE ever totally blew up (one other had a busted piston) as long as I kept up with the cars they were in, and that one was an intentional, sabotaged instance. Milling a '73 or later (they had hardened seats) 225 head .100", a slight blending of the ports, a two-barrel carb, a Super Six exhaust manifold and a camshaft swap along with gasket matching does wonders for the venerable /6; done right, it nearly doubles the HP as well as increases fuel mileage. Why in the world would someone want to throw a Ford or Bowtie boat anchor into a Power Wagon?
