Are pto units rebuildable and is it a pto particular to that transmission or were they on other transmissions, my 540 has two pto's on it, which would be necessary for operations from the front and rear of the truck. How bout the 4500. The guy I bought mine from said he set it up overdrive and he said he did that just by reversing 4th and 5th gears, if this is really true or not I'm still clueless. Back in the day John Minyard put one behind a 265 he hot rodded, said he could do about sixty four but he drives them as fast as they will go. He said he was going to put some 1100's on it but I haven't seen or heard from him in 30 years. Hope he is well.
