I have a '79 power wagon 4x4, and I'm lifting the front end 3 1/2 inches. Before i can put the new leaf springs in, i have to correct the steering. I bought a steering block kit fits between the steering arm and the knuckle. The problem we're having, has to do with the 3 bolts that connect the steering arm to the knuckle. To remove the steering arm, i'm not sure if i have to remove the 3 bolts, or simply pull the steering arm off the knuckle. The 3 bolts are threaded on both ends, so removal of them is difficult. Also, what is the function of the split locks, and do they impact the removal of the bolts or arm? We would appreciate any information or help you can give us.
