Aside from just finding a diff. vehicle than was advertised,what about when you check the vin # or cab plates only to find that the 48'is really a 57'and the owner shruggs and just says "well its registered as a 48'". Granted most people would think a 68'WM300 was a 48'and never question it,not even the DMV. Should it be left as whatever its registered or should the year or designation be corrected? Even if it is not a stolen vehicle could it not stirup trouble in some states? In Alabama, anything prior to 75'needs only a bill of sale to register and get a tag and a title will only be issued if applied for, so this situation would be easy to correct there.Would this cause a problem in other states trying to correct the year or designation of a vehicle bought elsewhere even if it had a title?
