You can make a 'rivet set' out of a 3/8 bolt by grind the end into an "M" shape. Use the corner of a bench grinder, or a slitting disc. Insert the V of the M between the rivet legs, and hit with a hammer. Back up the head with a bigger hammer. The legs ought to curl right around the mmm's. You 'll need it for the hood windlace too, and a helper to 'buck' the heads on the cowl sections.

No glue needed.

Yup, now you need to track down ANOTHER special fastener. Try the yellow drawers at Ace Hardware.
