Keith. It sounds like you are on the right track with the disks and the hydro boost. i have a '66 Ford F350 4x4 that used to have the same problem. I added a vacuum booster, and still had no brakes. I bought a disk brake kit for the front end from a company in Spokane (http://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/index4.html), and saw a little improvement. Paul in NY hooked me up with a company that provided a hydro boost system. Now the truck will stand on it's nose with a cubic yard of gravel in the flatbed. Good luck. Jerry
