Some re-programming is pretty simple- Unhook the battery for ten minutes, rehook, and while driving the next few days, the tranny brain 'learns' how/when to shift.
I think other systems do something like turn the key on-off ten times without ever starting.
I THINK the carrier change WAS at about 4.10. A 1/8" shim is available, depending on which direction it needs to go.
The re-program is cheap, but gear change will give lots more low end. What problem are you trying to fix?
