Well, then let's just agree that the electrolytic method is a heck of a dandy way to clean up rusty iron, that you can't over-do it, that it doesn't etch the iron, and that it leaves a good finish... and we'll skip the over-engineering and the chrome arguments this time around. I just used it on an axe blade that I found in the ground where it had undoubtedly laid since before the 1910 fire, and it's now a clean, sharp, old axe instead of a rusty, dull, old axe head. The farriers rasps didn't fare as well, but that's because most of the teeth had totally turned to rust.
