Thanks to all who made this year's trip truly an event to remember. Special thanks to Mark Mengele and family for hosting our group. Thanks also to Steve Swan for joining us, and for delivering the last of the swivel frame units he got out of Florida. Despite the rain on Saturday, everyone had a great time. The scenery was incredible. The renewed friendships, even better. Seven trucks made the 300 plus mile journey. The trail ride to Ram's Horn was out of this world, from the narrow climb up the ravine, to the mangled trees dotting the upper ridges to the barren landscape at the top. On the way down, my son Nick gave us a scare when he nearly ran Tim's Holloway's 1957 W100 over the bank into a ravine. Three winch trucks were used to retrieve the truck without a scratch. We were a smokey bunch, but all the trucks made it home safely. Unfortunately, Tim's truck developed a rod knock 30 miles from home. Despite the adversities, or because of them, a good time was had by all. Can't wait to get together again for more adventures.
