Dave, I forgot to ask about the holes. were the holes you said were in the bottom cut or were they melted in? if they were melted it could be a chrome or nickel alloy which would do all these things. chrome&nickel alloys do not cut with a torch well, thats why I asked about the cut or melted holes. may be some strange alloy that is almost stainless, which would make torch welding impossible, and brazing also. you have tweaked my brain, and now I want to know??
