Well in stick welding is called porocity. I don't know if I spelled it right, but anyway its little holes in the weld. Depending on the type of electrode your using'its caused by dirt, or with a lo- hydrogin rod, caused by wind, long arcing or to much movment. 6010 rod is great for dirty, rusty metal. I think you have a dirt or paint problem. I found some paint, even when you think you have ground off, seens to still be in the metal. If you can get a welder, use 6010, or braze it.
