Yeah, that's probably my best way to salvage it at this point. I'll have to grind it down shiny and just try to get a layer of braze over top of all the iron. That means turning everything so it's flat, because brazing vertically is next to impossible. I'd still like to know what's wrong. It's as if the weld is full of microscopic cracks -- too much shrinkage? Too brittle of an alloy? Lots of carbon got into it?
