New Shifter fork mount hole does not line up

Attempting to install NOS or maybe a repro shifter fork assembly on old MU-2 winch. The shifter fork bracket mount hole is off by about 1/4 inch, (or half the hole).

Was there a design change on the bracket in later years to accept this fork?
