I am thinking of doing the same thing on my D300 but for now I am leaving the running boards off the cab. I might section and chop them shorter and narrower. I have never liked the 61 to 71 sweptline era 1 ton running boards. The PG boards look much better to me so I am thinkg I will modify mine into similar proportions.
