I do all my own tires since the weenies at the tire shops wont do them anymore. More safety crap decimating our country and allowing the lazy kids to be lazier.
Go to a tire store and see if you can buy their old tire hammer and irons since they wont be using them anymore. The best hammer will be made by KD tool and have a fiberglass handle.
Get a old coffee can and fill 1/8 of the way up with dish soap, then fill 1/2 way up with water. mix it up. This is called "tire soap"
Pull the valves out of the stems of all the tires with the valve stem removal tool.
Using a old paintbrush put the tire soap on the tires where they meet up with the ring, this will soak in and help loosen them up or at least provide lubrication when you pull them apart.
Wait a day.
Eat your Wheaties.
Use more tire soap.
Start pounding the tire down on the rim with the tire hammer by trying to drive the wedge between the tire and the ring. Go around the ring once, flip the tire over and go around the back to break the bead. You may have to repeat this many times.
Once the bead is broke and you can push the tire down past the ring, you can use your tire irons to pry the ring off. You will figure that part out. It's pretty self explanatory
voila!
you just dismounted your tires and saved yourself a pile of dough (unless you f'd something up and have to go to the ER), and got a hell of a workout.
