You’re correct for Military models. Dodge had 6v, 12v, 24v systems in the early forties. Military 12v, but civilian had 6v and 24v (diesel). Except for Military models, civilian used 6v lighting systems until 56. On diesel models, trucks had two generators and two regulators, 6v and 24v. 24v for the starting/charging circuit and 6v for running lights, gauges, and accessories circuit.
