Unless it's been civilianized, there should be a steel vent line that taps into the oil filler pipe near the top, runs across the top of the engine and goes into one of the many fittings on the air intake casting between the air cleaner and the carburetor. All the tubes that go in there are part of the fording equipment so there's no place for water to get in. Also, there should be a PCV valve under the carb, plumbed with rigid pipe fittings. Best check and make sure both of those are clear.

On the other hand, I suppose if you have really severe blow-by, it could blow oil out the dipstick tube even with the vents working. The easy test there is just take the oil filler cap off and see if a big cloud of oily smoke comes out.
