back on my rear pto > opinions needed

on my power wagon 48 there is a hole in the rear xmember its next to the pintle hook > its factory drilled its about 3 inches in dia and its looks like a straight shot to the pto > i am going to use "shaft" material as i have plenty from other "drivin" equipment my questions one should i use a pillow block bearing to support the shaft its a long heavy piece of steel > i can incoperate a shear pin on the aft side of the pillow block ? or go tube with out shear pin and no support ? ~ Copey
