Fuel mileage, plus I have heard older engines can have issues with the alcohol eating the rubber parts, like in the fuel pump.
I am a big proponent of agriculture (used to make my living in part by it), but from what I understand ethanol from corn has contributed to higher costs for food, requires energy to produce, and is financially not very sustainable without subsidies.
I do recognize though that it has good arguments too.
