That was great to read your brief story. You are on the right track with your son. He likely will never forget the times you and he spent together chasing parts and trucks and disassembling and assembling. Congratulations on capturing that time with him.
You are right on about the short time we have with our kids. I raised 2 girls and 2 boys, moving to Idaho from California when the oldest was 2 so we could have more time together. And I cherish the many memories I have of stumbling over rocks and crashing through brush alongside a creek full of trout, or a day of cutting firewood, winching logs up the hill to the road so they could be cut and split. Afternoons picking huckleberries, evenings riding the bikes, winter days snowshoeing, all too soon they are past, but the memories will last forever. Congratulations on capturing that time with your son, may he always appreciate what you and he did together.
