PCV is on the lowest fiting yes, don't know if it dies, I will have to check (truck is 120 miles from me now) The dip tube is the one that came out of the virgin 1985 block when we took it appart. I think it is about 1/2 long on the bottom and is swaged into the block kinda. 5 quarts of 20-50 oil, puts a wet mark half way between full and add on the stick. Front edge of intake is dry. Front main would drip from the pan wouldn't it? no drips except one on the front header bolt.
