The engine should die from a terminal vaccuum leak if you pull the hose off. Otherwise it's on the wrong fitting. It belongs on a large, low tube.
Is that the correct dip stick tube? Or is it too long on the bottom, going into the oil?
Did you overfill? How many quarts are in it?
Sure it isn't the front main leaking? Or the front of the intake manifold to block rubber gasket?
