Chris, I too use a hood magnifier. Made all the difference in the world for me to see well. On my 3N Speedglas, my numbers equal a fixed shade.
Be very careful with Chinese helmets, especially auto darkening. We all know Chinese quality, can you trust their numbers, can you trust the UV is filtered, can you trust the transition period from normal to dark........I Cant, my eyes are to important to trust them to the Chinese
