Often I can hear the Jake Brakes of trucks slowing down on the slight grade by my office.
The Jake does not sound as good to those on the receiving end! ;)
It is interesting to me that Clessie had to go "outside" the company he founded to get his brake idea accepted and produced.
It kind of reminded me that Sam Walton originally offered his idea of the Wal Mart stores to his bosses at the Ben Franklin five and dime. They rejected the idea, so he had to go on his own...the rest is history as they say.
