A properly motivated 'seller' should/must do their research on values long before a article is listed for sale. The seller then should take their asking price and add some extra to give then some 'sea room' to lower during negotiations and still be close to the asking price when a deal is struck. A person asking for offers is just fishing and will never attract me to make a offer. Thats a game the buyer normally does not win, but rather makes the seller hostile due to the low offered price. At this point the seller is upset and no longer wants to talk with the potential buyer. The buyer can win if he offers some crazy high price. Then the seller smiles because he got a lot more for the item than he ever thought he would.

If a seller really wants offers.......list the item on Ebay. They do all the work for you and you automatically get the highest Bid (offer)
