I know the original owner of my '51 and stay in contact. I have no reason to doubt their word, or the word of Norm.
There are no gaps in my manual collection. The 1948 year is covered in-depth. There simply is no indication in the parts manuals that any Power-Wagons were equipped with draft tubes. If I have the wrong information, chances are that everyone else who collects manuals also has the same wrong information.
Unless there is a rare Service Bulletin out there on the the subject yet to be found, this will probably remain a mystery.
