So you say there are groves worn in the cam that drives the fuel pump lever, that is somthing I have never seen. I have seen the 3 part levers before with the plate and with out so I would say yes you can put a small plate on the lever. Make sure to check the side to side play of the lever, not tomuch slop. Its pooring rain here today was going to Magungie to the car show but decided to stay home. You sure are having fuel pump problems.Good Luck Bill.
