One of the WDX's I fixed up I built a receiver that bolted into the rear crossmember from behind...like the pillow block for a rear PTO. I welded a 2" stub onto the back of a pintle & welded the bolt heads on so when I wasn't using a reseiver hitch, it looked bone stock...the pintle was held in by a pin from the rear & was fully functional. For a hitch, I welded up my own hitch with a longer shaft(if you can imagine...the shaft has to be long enough to reach 6" through the rear crossmember) & It had a drop that worked with my trailer.
Looked stock & worked great.
Problem is for you US boys....you like to sue everyone. Everyone's afraid of their own shadow for fear they'll be sued...so welding a trailer hitch is taboo :)
I think things like hitches & custom steering are sent to another planet for the actual welding/engineering to be done :)
I'll look for a picture of that....it worked great.
