Seems to me that a fan pushing through an obstruction would be better than a fan trying to pull through the same obstruction.

My reasoning is that the obstruction would make the air pile up behind a push through fan, and the fan can push harder. Where as with the a pull-through, the obstruction will make the fan 'cavitate'.

This is easily demonstrated with a vacuum cleaner. Block the input and you will hear the motor rev up, since there is less drag causes by less air. Block the outlet, and hear the motor load down as it pushes harder. This means the motor must be pushing harder.

Probably just a useless piece of knowledge since in our trucks fan location is decided by other factors, like style and space.

But I do know for sure that I don't like the idea of an ugly fan blocking the view of a $1,000 radiator.
