This W-500 Dodge 4 X 4 Power Wagon Fire Truck is the Biggest most Powerful and Toughest Power Wagon ever made by Dodge. It is considered a 2 Ton Vehicle as the smaller W-400 was a 1 1/2 Ton and the W-300 a 1 Ton.

The Fire apparatus has been sold previously It was ordered new by the Montana Forest Service and used during the summers for Forest Fire duty. Most of the mileage was put on going from one site to another in vast Montana. Luckily, it has a 5 speed transmission powered by a Wide Block 318 V-8 engine and will cruise at Highway speeds, no problem. It is a RUST FREE. Very Well Maintained truck that has been Firehouse Kept Inside, most of its life. A Volunteer Fire Co. had it after the Forest Service. Recently removed from service in September 2006, It runs, steers, shifts, and stops great.

Everything works and there are many optional features such as: PTO, Front Locking Hubs, Tachometer, Aux. Electric Fuel Pump (for faster starting, it still has the Mechanical Fuel pump), Vernier Hand throttle (like aircraft) to set engine speed for PTO or idle speed, MICO Brake Lock for use on steep hills with engine running, Light Bar, Side Spot Lights,. The tires and Battery are like new, the body is very straight, glass is very good - no cracks, new carburetor with manual choke, brakes have been checked and are excellent, recently lubed.

The truck can be put into service immediately.

The PTO was previously used to power a pump, however, after the forest service sold it to the volunteer company, they needed Pump & Roll capability, removed the old PTO Pump and installed Self powered pumps. At this time, this truck would be ideal for use as a 4 X 4 Dump Truck, Snow Plow or a Stake body truck or even as an off road tanker unit.

The axle location is suitable for a Dump Truck Body, being close to the rear of the chassis, & having a shorter wheel base. It would pull any back hoe trailer- loaded - in mud or snow better than any other truck made today costing $40,000 or more!!! The rear axle, made by Timkin, is rated at 17,500 Lbs. Data Plate info : Rear Axle- 17,000lbs (I went from memory before) 6.8 Timken H141 Front Axle- 7,500 lbs 5 SPD Syn. N. Proc. 540 165 HP @ 3900 rpm 2800 Ft Spr 8000 R Spr 20,000 GVW You can't over load it.

If you ever wanted a Big Old Power Wagon that will out pull & out climb anything...Here it is waiting for you!!! This vehicle needs to be picked up from current location in North Atlanta.

DISCLAIMER: This vehicle as described has been done so to the best of my ability. Please remember it is a 1964 truck, and is sold as is and is for sale elsewhere and may be removed at owners discretion. "Non refundable" Deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of close of auction.
