You can mount the shank of a ball through the hole in the end of the drawbar in order to pull a trailer, having minimal tongue weight, and requiring a ball type hitch, but this was not the real purpose of the drawbar on a Power-Wagon. They were designed to pull farm equipment that had a tongue with a yoke and a hitch pin, (like a 4-wheel wagon or other piece of equipment that had no tongue weight) or as a point to attach a clevis and pin.

Pintle hitches were fairly common to the civilian Power-Wagon. These mounted above the drawbar directly in the rear crossmember. You can pull equipment with the pintle hitch while the drawbar is in place, providing the tongue on the pulled equipment clears the drawbar.

You can not mount a pintle hitch on a truck that has the rear tailshaft.

Hope this helps.
