you had one side with low compresion and you had a melt down on spark plug > the whole problem was that heat riser and that will cause issues again seen lots of times > the heat riser directs the exhaust gasses to flow under the carb via a passage in th eintake to prevent cold weather stalling then the vale which is usually mounted on a heat (at operating temp opens)sentitive spring opens it > so the exhaust gasses are going out the tail pipe and not under the carb through the passage in the intake > so if you intake is stock and the passage is open and the heat riser is in cold all would be well > if the passage is blocked and you are trying to close off one bank of cylinders heat build up will occur if you leave (you ) valve closed to long you wiill burn stuff ~ Copey
