I would now say yes.
Apparently the old sock type (Deluxe) filter that I and many Power Wagons used had the inlet on the bottom,outlet on the side.
Yours uses the cartridge type and the inlet is on the top side.
Same as M-37 and early WC's that used cartridge filters.
The one thing I also learned was filters with the "T" handle top were Sock type. Canisters with the "Hex" nut used the cartridge.
