There are "A" circuit systems and "B" circuit systems. Each is polorized differently. You have the "A" circuit.
To polorize the gen. on this circuit, you remove the field wire from the regulator and then ground the field terminal at the gen.
To polorize the reg., touch a jumper wire from the generator's Arm. or Gen. terminal to the regs. battery terminal for a fraction of a second.
