Those are great explanations that I will print and SAVE. Of course,I will use them for troubleshooting also. The current point was fused and stuck. After I easily broke it free the charge rate when running at idle was at about 15 amps positive, and when I rev the truck it goes up to like 25 amps positive. It will never chare up and move the needle on the amp gauge down close to zero. I had not run the truck for a couple of weekks, and until two weeks ago the amp gauge always settled in just plus of zero after a few minutes. The truck cranks and starts well, even now. There is no boiling of the battery. At idle at the battery, it is about 6.3 volts. When I rev it up the voltage goes to about 7.4 volts at the battery. Load test after 10 seconds on the battery shows it just above the first line in the green good area. Perhaps a bad battery anyway. I will try thet first. Let me know if you can add anything to this... Thanks.
