Joel, have you or anyone else had the carb apart? check the float very closly. I was driving Dave's wendall once and it did something simular. could not get it to run over a few min. at a time, turned out to be a chunk of silicone had fallen into the tank from an earlier sending unit install. are you on an electric pump or the manual pump? and last but not least, I had a six-pack set-up on a 440 once that did exactly as you describe. it turned out to be the cork gasket had come apart inside the carb. when I would lean on the car the fuel level would drop and the little pieces of cork would plug the jets, let it idle and the bowl would fill again, float the cork and it run would run fine again. look for something out of the ordinary for the problem.
