Back in the '60s I responded to an ad for a 12 gauge shotgun. The old gentleman showed me a double barreled, exposed hammer shotgun with a leather case. I asked him how much he wanted. He said, "What will you give me?". I told him I preferred to set prices on other people's property. He said, "I ain't selling it for a dime less than I paid for it!" I asked how much that was. He said "Twelve dollars." I gladly forked over his asking price. If he would had asked $100, I would have been glad to pay $100, but he set the price, and I paid his price. Obviously this was a deal of a lifetime. But I still maintain that it is not my position to establish the value of another man's property. I will give an opinion, but only if I'm not interested in buying.
