The Salt Lake Valley isn't the quiet place it was when I lived there in the 70's. But it is still a nice place.
They used to run evening jazz concerts up at Snowbird, if this is of interest.
There is a great Surplus place up North Smith and ____(?) IIRC, but its a good way up.
If you like fish, try the Market Street Grill.
