I've actually turned & undercut, set neutral, and troubleshot opens & shorts on 2&3 kilowatt generators with 4 separate fields, so working on this little pea shooter isn't too big of a deal for me.

As far as cleaning comm's go, for a little guy like this, I've got these little sticks of cretex, which are basically abrasive erasers for cleaning electrical surfaces that conduct. Handy little items that polish up surfaces on points too.

The biggest issue for me is time and parts availability, and just plain ole' gettin' it done fast. I'm changing the bed out to a little heavier-duty bed & putting a dump unit on it this week. I'm expecting a call yesterday saying the bed's ready to be installed, and need to be able to get the truck to the shop 40 miles from here, so this generator thing is kind of a nuisance I need to go away quick.
