4th edition by William H. Crouse has a chapter devoted to this issue (later editions
may not have generator repair - i do not know) Ebay has Mr. Crouses text books from time to time and perhaps your local library has a copy you can check out
Local high school auto shop instructor may
have a copy as it is a text book
Shop may even have one of the little lathes
that is used to turn generator/starter commutators down to clean up
#1 rule do NOT use emery paper on commutator
(segmented copper end on armature where brushes seat) only sand paper
brushes need to be "seated" after installation complete instructions in book
