I read your answer to my post about the hubs last forum. I appreciate it and knew the IH 1/2 & 3/4 tons used the same front axles as the Dodges. Already scammed some of those hubs. =) The 'Binder I hauled was about the size of a 400 or 500 so was asking if that was the same front axle as the W500's. I could have gotten those hubs (even for the IH guys) if I had the correct tools. Anyone know if they are the same or not and how exactly do they come off? Looked real easy except it seemed I needed a very thin wall socket to get them. Couldn't get on the nuts with a standard socket or an end wrench. I'm just wondering if I let a set go that someone here could have used? There was also a C500 in the yard that I asked the gal about and she said it was running before it got blocked in. I had a bit of time the last time I hauled out of this yard and it seems like it was a 5 speed/2 speed rear axle. It looks pretty good and I would be all over it if I had a place for it. This is in South Bend, WA.

I was also in a wrecking yard in Toppenish, WA this week and there appeared to be a WC with a utility body of some type, a mid 50's flatbed Dodge, maybe a 1 1/2 ton and a '54-1st series '55 Chevy 1 1/2 ton. I had to back in and didn't get a chance to really look around at what was there but at least that might be a heads up for someone near there.

South of Toppenish on highway 97 is a place that has a TON of old iron. Looks like mostly 30's and earlier with a few '40's thrown in. I don't think it is a wrecking yard. Looks like some guy maybe just collected all that stuff. Not sure it is for sale or if there is even a residence there. I can't stop with the rig I'm driving so if anyone is interested they will need to check it out themselves.
