After removing points & installing Pertronox the motor sounded great.
Checked the timing & it was way off. Setting it to 2.5 BTDC. & motor ran poorly.
Put a vacuum gage on it & vacuum was low. Turning Distributer clockwise as far as it would go made for better vacuum, then it was too dark to work.
Question: I've read that the timing mark can move on the 6 cyl,. vibration dampener. Can I set timing with vacuum gage or should I go through the trouble of finding true TDC.
