That sounds really fantastic, and you have the right idea with the 20" singles. Think about 13.00R20s (45.1") or 14.5R20s (43.1"). I saw a set of 75% tread 16.00R20 Michelin XLs sold at a DRMO action for $7.50 apiece!!! These particular tires are 52" tall, maybe too big even for a W500 (OEM on HEMTT).
Don't forget the Detroit Locker/NoSpin in the rear. What kind of front axle do they have? The only make ARB Air Lockers for Dana 80s, so far.
You might even find one with a crewcab and PTO winch. The gas company here in Anchorage uses International crewcab large-midrange trucks which would make a perfect base for a monster 4X4 like you envision. They come with a choice of 7.3 Powerstroke, DT466E, DT530E (both big Navistar sixes), high output 5.9BTA or 3116 Cat. Transmissionwise, I'd consider something with more gears than a 5spd; theres a really nice 11 spd Roadranger called the RTO-11909ALL. 1st gear is 7.41 and 8th gear is 0.73 overdrive. Low-low 2 is 11.85, low is 16.30 and low-low 1 is 26.08. Hook all that up to a Rockwell T-226 and either stock axles if heavy enough or some nice 5 ton axles (6.44:1, surprisingly cheap from Boyce even with a NoSpin). With the overdrive and 45" tires you'd be turning 2160 rpm @ 60 mph.
