The 230ci. engine in my 54 PW is in need of help, but I don't want to have it "down" for too long. I would like to rebuild another engine, then do a "weekend swap", and any ideas would be helpful. The 230 is an American pattern engine, and REALLY uncommon up here in CANADA in road vehicles, but I have been able to locate a couple of American engines in old farm machinery. Does anyone know if the industrial engine is a "bolt in" replacement for the PW ? The engine I found today is a model: IND-30 , type: 151. Does anyone know what the displacement is from these numbers? Did the industrials use any heavy duty parts like: sodium valves, bigger oil pump/ filter, better crankshaft, rods, etc?? Is the industrial camshaft suitable for an on road application, or should it be replaced/reground?? Thanks J.V.L.
