First of all, split rims are NOT illegal. they are safe in the hands of intelligent experienced people. One of the many important safety procedures is to wirebrush the crud off the interfacing surfaces of the rim and ring. They have the miraculous capability of a user actually being able to repair a tire in the middle of nowhere with minimal tools (and of course a source of air). For those that want replacement rims for M37/PWs, Stockton Wheel, in Stockton, Calif., builds steel wheels with all the usual military type bolt patterns, including 16, 16.5 and I suppose even 20". There's a 40.4" Michelin 345/85R16 PXL (takes a 8.5X16 rim)....
