Alan,
Don't fall into the pit of unenlightened full-time haters, your full-time will take your truck just as far as any part-time system would. When your truck is locked in hi-loc or lo-loc, there is NO DIFFERENCE between it and a part-time system in 4-high or 4-low respectively. In fact, your full-time will be more likely to keep you from getting stuck when the terrain is slicker than you thought, but don't get over confident and not loc it when you really need it, then you'll really be stuck.
When locked, the front and rear are locked together and at least 2 tires (1 front and 1 rear) will spin, (this is exactly the way a part-time acts when in 4wd). When you are in just hi or lo , your differential in the t-case works and will allow just one tire on one axle to spin freely, but still trys to spin all 4, i.e. less likely to break one loose in the first place. Reid is on the right track if you truely need to convert to part-time, but the kit goes in the t-case converting it to part-time regardless of your transmission, then hubs must be added the the front axle. I believe that Milemarker makes (or made) both of these kits. Contact them and they can give you excellent advise.
