I'm no mechanic, but I've been running 68-71 power wagons for 25 yrs. One thing you do need is a dwell meter. You set dwell with d-cap off and cranking over the engine. As far as the misfire goes you might want to check the fuel pump. And as far as the distributer goes, it's always easier to replace rather than repair. It is also
important to use the right timing specs. Chiltons and Hayes suck.
