Bought it new from VPW, with the 12V Conversion kit, I was told it was an internally regulated alternator, and that's all I should need. It is putting out 15.25V, measured at the battery, at idle. I was also told by local mechanics that that should not damage my yellow Optima deep cycle battery, and that this battery should be fine with this level of charging, since it's a dry-cell. Should I send back the alternator, or have it fixed locally? Thanks for any help!
