Do like the last diagram in Keith's link first.

That ought to help a lot.

But that link doesn't show a alternative approach. The shafts should all be parallel if viewed for above, but may be complementary(?) angles if viewed from the side. Example, a 6 degree angle of the joint at the transfer case requires a 6 degree angle of the joint at the rear axle- either positive OR negative.

I used the protractor head from the three-head set of a "combination square". It has a bubble, and is only marked to one degree increments. But it was good enough to make a HUGE improvement, once I found out my transfer case needed FOUR degrees of tilt.

Draw a sketch of your drive line, all six joints shown, the two axles are twisted upwards, NOT level. Then, you need to take readings of each of three drive shafts, and four flange f&r axle, tranny, and tc. Your reading are all "degrees from level", make sure you add them to your sketch, angle the actual direction. You can use the end of the square blade, as well as it's length to get readings.

Now you need to do a bit of math, and and/or subtract the various readings, to find the angle each joint is 'bent'.

Now you need to do a bit of cogitating, as to which way to move what component. Everything was screwed up on my '53, four degrees at each axle drivelin, and like um 8 at the intermediate shaft. Hmmm, shimming the transfer case lower at it's front mount bolts has a greater effect on that short little intermediate shaft... hmmmm...try adding four 1/2" fender washers, at 1/16" thick each...WA-LAAAaaA! Perfect alignment of all SIX u-joints, 6 degrees each!

I couldn't see any misalignment, like a bent crossmember. Possibly a crappy job from the factory?
