It seemed like it was fast, at least fast enough so that it would start. What is the best way to clean the gaps? Wire brush? On another note, it seemed that the whole electrical system is alittle bit shaky, with some wires almost exposed and worn down. It needs replaced for sure, but is it best to convert to 12v while in the process? I'm not sure how good the starter is, and I believe the only other thing that matters for a conversion is the generator, which seems to charge just fine when the engine is running alright.
